Macron Moves to Dissolve Parliament Amid EU Election Shakeup

French President Emmanuel Macron has decided to dissolve the French parliament and call for new elections following poor performance in the European Parliament elections. The Renew Europe party, to which Macron's Renaissance party belongs, saw its influence wane as Marine Le Pen's Rassemblement National took the lead.

The Renew Europe party shrunk in preliminary EU election results, as Marine Le Pen's Rassemblement National trounced Macron's Renaissance party.
