According to a post by Malviya on platform X, Sinha's Facebook entry from June 7, 2024, insinuated a compromised political system and demeaned working relationships across genders in public life. Malviya accused the Trinamool Congress and the Indian National Congress of propagating these 'falsehoods' rather than supporting women's dignity.

Malviya's legal team served Sinha a notice on June 8 demanding an unqualified apology. Sinha's subsequent retraction on June 11 was deemed insufficient. Malviya criticized the retraction as 'problematic and reductionist,' prompting him to pursue criminal defamation under the IPC and consider additional civil remedies.
