Piyush Goyal Urges BJP to Gear Up for Maharashtra Assembly Polls

Senior BJP leader Piyush Goyal stresses the need for active participation of party members to address shortcomings in the party system ahead of the Maharashtra assembly polls. He also highlights the importance of voter turnout, reflecting on the low response in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

In a crucial address to party members, Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized the need for proactive engagement to rectify existing shortcomings within the party framework ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections. The polls are slated to take place in the next 3-4 months.

Goyal underscored the importance of encouraging a higher voter turnout, especially in light of the relatively low response during the recent Lok Sabha elections. 'I am confident that the (party) system will be better ahead of the next state polls. If we start making efforts now, there will be no shortcomings,' he stated.

The Union Commerce Minister also reiterated the party’s goal to secure all six assembly seats in the Mumbai North Lok Sabha constituency, where the BJP had previously won four out of six in the last elections. Notably, after the Shiv Sena split, the Sena MLA shifted loyalty to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Goyal himself boasts an impressive electoral record, having won his debut Lok Sabha poll from the Mumbai North constituency with a margin of 3,56,996 votes.
