Kenya in Turmoil: Protests Erupt Over Controversial Tax Plan

Kenyans protested against a controversial finance bill that would raise taxes, storming parliament and burning parts of the building. Police and soldiers were seen patrolling the streets while city workers began clearing debris. Parliament, the city hall, and the supreme court remained cordoned off with crime scene tape. President William Ruto labeled the events as treasonous and vowed to quell the unrest 'at whatever cost.'
