According to the British Future think tank, around 14% of MPs will come from an ethnic minority background. 'This election will see the biggest rise in ethnic minority representation,' stated Sunder Katwala, Director of British Future. 'Britain is narrowing the gap between the diversity of Parliament and the electorate much faster than anyone anticipated.'

High-profile candidates to watch include Labour's Praful Nargund, Jas Athwal, and Rajesh Agrawal, alongside Conservative candidates Chandra Kanneganti and Ameet Jogia. This election marks a historic moment for ethnic minority representation in British politics.
