National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Thursday advocated for timely assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir to demonstrate the supremacy of security forces over terrorists responsible for recent attacks in the region.

Speaking at a party function, Abdullah asserted that there is no normalcy in the union territory and urged the government to bravely conduct the elections.

He remarked, 'If you don't have the courage, and are afraid, then don't. But if you want to show the supremacy of our police and forces, then elections should be conducted on time.'

Addressing reporters about the BCCI's decision not to send the cricket team to Pakistan, Abdullah explained it is up to the BCCI and emphasized Pakistan’s role in improving bilateral relations.

He also raised concerns about the delay in decisions related to NEET examinations, expressing it as an injustice to the youth. Additionally, he announced the NC's plans to introduce a comprehensive package for women in its manifesto, aiming to improve their societal status and share in the development of J&K.
