The Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) stressed on Thursday that the landlocked nation can achieve economic prosperity by fostering close ties with India, declaring it will not permit any activities against its southern neighbor.

Senior party leader Dr. Rajan Bhattarai made these remarks ahead of a parliamentary confidence vote which could see former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli return to power.

Bhattarai asserted that economic progress and foreign investment depend on friendly relations with India, despite past criticisms and current geopolitical challenges.
