The BJP in Karnataka has announced a protest to lay siege to Vidhana Soudha on July 15, targeting the Congress government’s alleged anti-Dalit policies. The decision was made at a meeting headed by BJP state unit President B Y Vijayendra and co-in-charge Sudhakar Reddy, among other key members.

According to state BJP General Secretary Sunil Kumar, the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government has been accused of misappropriating funds meant for the welfare of the SC/ST communities. These allegations are said to be backed by diverted funds from the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) for other guarantee schemes.

This protest, scheduled to coincide with the start of the nine-day monsoon session of the Karnataka Legislature, includes a meeting at Freedom Park. BJP leaders are also organizing a 'mega' protest in Mysuru on July 12 concerning a fraudulent land allotment case involving the Chief Minister’s wife.
