U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday announced plans for the United States to meet again with European and Japanese leaders to increase their capacity to build weapons systems. Biden revealed that NATO leaders and partners discussed the necessity for a new industrial policy among Western countries, aimed at boosting Europe’s and Japan’s ability to produce their own weapons systems.
“We're going to be in a position where the West is going to become the industrial base for ... the ability to have all the defensive weapons that we need,” Biden stated to reporters during a news conference following a summit of NATO leaders held in Washington.
