BJP MLA Defends Herself Against Misleading Viral Video

BJP MLA Meghna Bordikar objected to a misleading viral video showing her with Rs 500 notes in the Maharashtra legislative assembly. BJP MLA Meghna Bordikar on Thursday took strong objection to a viral video showing her putting two Rs 500 notes in a folder while sitting in the Maharashtra legislative assembly, claiming it was highly misleading.

Addressing the issue in the assembly, Bordikar clarified that she needed to buy medicines as she was feeling feverish in the morning. She explained that she took out the notes and kept them in a folder to pass on to her personal assistant.

The video clip, however, was being circulated on social media platform X to create a wrong impression, she stated. When some MLAs questioned how such footage was obtained inside the House, Minister Shambhuraj Desai suggested it was likely taken from the live feed of the proceedings. BJP MLA Ram Kadam, along with others, demanded the video be removed and urged the media to stop its circulation. The presiding officer assured an inquiry into the issue would be conducted.
