Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Saturday that there is no absolute certainty regarding Deif's death. Hamas offered no evidence about their commander's condition, who was the key architect behind the October 7 attacks that triggered the current conflict.

The Israeli military announced that another top Hamas commander, Rafa Salama, was killed in the strike. Salama led the Khan Younis brigade and was considered one of Deif's closest associates. Despite the violence, Hamas asserted that cease-fire discussions with mediators continue. The attack occurred in a designated safe area for displaced Palestinians, leading to further unrest and casualties.
