Shankaracharya Calls Out Betrayal: Uddhav Thackeray's Plea for Vindication

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth, declined an invitation to the Ram temple ceremony in Ayodhya and stated that Uddhav Thackeray is a victim of betrayal. He emphasized that betrayal is the biggest sin and met Thackeray to express support for his reinstatement as Maharashtra's chief minister.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth in Uttarakhand, declined an invitation to the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. On Monday, he declared Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray a victim of betrayal.

The Shankaracharya met Thackeray at his residence, Matoshree, and stated that people's pain won't dissipate until Thackeray regains his position as Maharashtra's chief minister.

Terming betrayal as the biggest sin, the seer remarked, 'The one who betrays can’t be a Hindu, while the one who tolerates betrayal is a Hindu.' He further commented on the anguish of Maharashtra's populace, which was apparent in the recent Lok Sabha elections. He also questioned the logic behind laying a foundation stone for a Kedarnath temple in New Delhi by Uttarakhand's chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, suggesting it would confuse people. The Shankaracharya also attended a puja ceremony at Matoshree bungalow.
