All Parliamentarians from Kerala, regardless of their party affiliations, united at a meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday. They collectively decided to petition the union government on financial issues concerning the state.
The chief minister's office announced that Parliamentarians had agreed to set aside political differences to protect Kerala's interests. Senior Congress leader and Alappuzha MP K C Venugopal reiterated his party's readiness to fight for the state's rightful claims.
The meeting emphasized the MPs' role in ensuring timely completion of central projects, effective fund utilization, and drawing the union government's attention to crucial state development initiatives. These include setting up an AIIMS at Kozhikode, addressing health sector dues, rail projects, and the development of Kannur International Airport.
Chief Minister Vijayan sought the full cooperation of the MPs, while the meeting resolved to pressure the union government on these demands.
Finance Minister K N Balagopal, Agriculture Minister P Prasad, and others, including senior officials, participated, underscoring the state's unified approach to its financial challenges.
