President Joe Biden is intensifying efforts to regain support among Latino voters, a crucial demographic for his reelection bid, as he engages with a Latino civil rights organization in Nevada.

During his address at the UnidosUS annual conference in Las Vegas, Biden announced that U.S. citizens' spouses without legal status can start applying for permanent residency beginning Aug. 19 without leaving the country. The initiative could affect up to half a million immigrants.

Biden also shed light on the near-record-low Latino unemployment rate, the increase in health insurance obtainment within the community, and the doubling of Small Business Administration loans to Latino business owners since 2020. These efforts come as Biden counters challenges from Republicans and waning support from Latino and Black voters.
