Political tensions soared in Andhra Pradesh as the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the opposition YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) traded accusations following the murder of a 25-year-old man in Vinukonda.
According to local authorities, Sheik Jilani allegedly hacked Sheik Rashid to death at a bus station in Palnadu district. The police emphasized that the crime stemmed from personal issues, not political motives.
Despite police assertions, YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy condemned the act, alleging a breakdown in law and order under the TDP-led government. In retaliation, TDP claimed that Jilani was linked to YSRCP and called for an end to false allegations. Prohibitory orders have been enforced in the area to maintain peace.
