Assam's Demographic Shift: 2041 Projected as Muslim-Majority Milestone

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claims that the state's Muslim population is growing approximately 30 per cent every decade and is projected to form the majority by 2041. The Hindu population grows about 16 per cent every decade. Sarma emphasizes the role of the Congress party, particularly Rahul Gandhi, in controlling Muslim population growth.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday stated that the Muslim population in Assam is increasing by around 30 per cent every decade, predicting they will become the majority by 2041.

Speaking at a press conference, Sarma highlighted that Muslims currently make up 40 per cent of Assam's population according to statistical sampling.

He affirmed, "By 2041, Assam will become a Muslim-majority state. It's a reality and nobody can stop it."

Sarma added that the Hindu community's population rises by approximately 16 per cent every decade.

The chief minister alleged his government has initiated measures to curb population growth among the Muslim community, adding that the Congress party has a significant role in this matter. "If Rahul Gandhi becomes the brand ambassador of population control, the growth rate will be contained as the community only listens to him," he claimed.
