Sikkim Assembly to Focus on Infrastructure and Development in Upcoming Budget Session

The budget session of the Sikkim assembly, set for August 5 to 9, will prioritize electricity, water, and road infrastructure. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang also emphasized improvements in healthcare, education, tourism, and welfare schemes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit for the state's 50-year celebration.

The Sikkim assembly will conduct its budget session from August 5 to 9, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced on Friday.

During a session with SKM MLAs in Mintokgang, Tamang highlighted that the state government will prioritize electricity, water, and road infrastructure over the next five years. He also mentioned that healthcare, education, tourism, and welfare schemes will be focal points, along with efforts to boost revenue.

Moreover, Tamang urged the legislators to ensure effective inter-departmental coordination and to hold at least one public meeting per week in their constituencies.

In preparation for Sikkim's 50th year of statehood, Tamang noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the state and called on lawmakers to gear up for year-long celebrations.
