Two years ahead of the 2026 Assembly election, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has established a committee comprising senior DMK leaders and youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin to recommend changes to the party organization.
Stalin recalled the success of a similar panel set up before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, which facilitated the DMK and its allies in winning 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and one seat in Puducherry.
A new 'Coordination Committee', including senior party leaders and ministers, has now been formed to prepare for the 2026 Assembly elections. This committee is tasked with suggesting improvements and necessary steps for the party organization. The DMK government, led by Stalin, assumed office on May 7, 2021, with the Assembly election expected in March-April 2026.
