Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched a fiery criticism of NCP chief Sharad Pawar, referring to him as the 'leader of corruption'. This attack was swiftly met with a rebuttal from the NCP, which accused the BJP of legitimizing corruption by inducting tainted leaders.

In a distressing development, Maharashtra reported 1,267 farmer suicides in the first half of this year, with the Amravati division recording the highest number at 557.

Off the coast of Goa, a fire broke out on a merchant navy ship on July 19. The Indian Coast Guard has managed to bring the blaze under control, but one crew member lost their life in the incident.
