The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) dissolved its core committee on Tuesday following a meeting in Chandigarh. The reorganization of the committee is expected to occur shortly, according to party leader Daljit Singh Cheema.
The decision came after the party's Working Committee authorized SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal to make organizational changes. Senior party members, including S Harjinder S Dhami and S Balwinder S Bhundar, were present at the meeting.
The move follows internal conflict and demands for leadership change by figures such as Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Bibi Jagir Kaur after the party's poor performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
