PM Shehbaz Sharif Condemns Propaganda Against Army

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has denounced the propaganda campaign against the army allegedly by Imran Khan's party. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vehemently denounced the alleged propaganda campaign launched by imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party against the military and its leadership. Addressing the federal cabinet, Sharif labeled the campaign as intolerable and heart-wrenching.

The premier emphasized the need for unity against these malicious campaigns, highlighting the substantial sacrifices made by the armed forces in counter-terrorism efforts. He condemned the May 9 riots and recent attacks on Pakistani consulates in Germany and London, calling them deeply unfortunate and politically motivated.

Sharif expressed serious concerns over the rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He blamed the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and hinted at external influences while urging for peaceful negotiations to resolve the issues. The Prime Minister also announced the elimination of visa fees for 126 countries to boost business and tourism.

Sources indicate that the cabinet deferred decisions on banning PTI and launching treason cases against ex-President Arif Alvi, ex-PM Imran Khan, and former Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, pending further consultations with coalition partners.
