Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Wednesday that the state government would boycott the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for July 27. The decision comes in protest against the central government's alleged neglect of Telangana's rights and failure to release due funds.
The announcement was made in the Legislative Assembly during a debate on a resolution passed after a day-long discussion. The resolution accused the central government of discrimination in the Union Budget and failure to honor promises made to the state under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Reddy highlighted several unfulfilled promises, including the establishment of a steel factory, a railway coach factory, and other key projects. He expressed the hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address these issues in the Parliament session. The debate saw heated exchanges between the ruling Congress, opposition BRS, and the BJP.
