Chhattisgarh Congress state in-charge Sachin Pilot has fiercely criticized the Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai-led state government, citing a significant surge in Naxal attacks since the government's inception seven months ago. Pilot noted, "It has been only seven months since this government was formed. The law and order situation has deteriorated, with increasing Naxal attacks, murders, shootings, rapes, and kidnappings. The government has failed to take effective measures. When people feel unsafe, it's our duty to voice their concerns."
Pilot emphasized that while crime is a universal issue, it is the government's obligation, alongside the police and administration, to take strict action against anti-social elements. He stressed, "As the opposition, we have a duty to question the Home Minister and the Chief Minister. What actions have been taken so far? Crime can occur anywhere, but instilling public trust through decisive action is crucial."
Additionally, Pilot attacked the Modi-led central government over the 2024-25 Union budget, highlighting the absence of the term "farmer." He remarked, "The government's disregard for farmers is evident. Despite being in power, they have made empty promises to placate their allies. I am pleased our party has pledged to make MSP law in its manifesto, and we will champion this cause both in the House and on the streets under Rahul Gandhi's leadership."
In contrast, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the budget as "historic," stressing its focus on agriculture and employment. He stated, "India being an agricultural nation, this budget's Rs 1.52 lakh crore allocation to agriculture and related sectors is transformative. Provisions like Rs 5,000 for apprenticeships aim to position India as a developed nation by 2047."
