Hamas Official Refutes Netanyahu's U.S. Congress Address

Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri criticized Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's speech to the U.S. Congress, claiming it disguised failures and war crimes against Gaza. Netanyahu emphasized the necessity of a Middle Eastern security alliance and denied intentions to resettle Gaza, while advocating for Palestinian-led governance post-conflict.

Hamas senior official, Sami Abu Zuhri, condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent address to the U.S. Congress on Wednesday, accusing him of disguising failures and war crimes against Gaza. In his record fourth speech to a joint Congressional session, Netanyahu stressed the crucial need for a security alliance in the Middle East to counter Iran's influence.

During an interview, Abu Zuhri asserted, 'Netanyahu's speech was full of lies and it will not succeed in covering up the failure and defeat faced by the resistance or the war crimes his army commits in Gaza.'

Netanyahu declared that Israel has no intentions of resettling Gaza, stating that post-war, the enclave should be governed by Palestinians who do not seek Israel's destruction. Palestinian president's spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, responded by emphasizing that only the Palestinian people can decide their rulers and reiterated the need for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
