Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has insisted that the government scrutinize and present the authentic Shah Commission report, which delves into the excesses during the Emergency period, to the Parliament. This demand follows BJP member Deepak Prakash's request during zero hour for the report to be made public.

Dhankhar underscored the significance of the report, calling it a matter of "grave public importance." He emphasized that it pertains to what he described as the "darkest period of Indian democracy," urging for its presentation in the House.

The Shah Commission, established by the Government of India, investigated the excesses during the Emergency imposed by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Concurrently, AAP MP Raghav Chadha claimed state-sponsored spyware attacks, which MoS (Electronics and IT) Jitin Prasada refuted. Parliamentary sessions were further marked by uproar, with Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other MPs addressing various contentious issues, leading to repeated adjournments.
