Late on Friday, several chief ministers from Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states arrived in Delhi to attend the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for today. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Upon arrival, Goa CM Pramod Sawant stated he would bring up state-specific issues. 'Different state issues are discussed in NITI Aayog meetings, and we will present Goa's demands. Following that, there is a Chief Ministers Conference reviewing 13 flagship programs. Goa has announced 10 percent reservations under the Agniveer scheme for uniform services,' he remarked.

Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai and other political leaders echoed this sentiment, underscoring the meeting's significance. Chief ministers from states including Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, and Assam have also gathered in the capital. The 9th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog will be held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre with the theme 'Viksit Bharat@2047,' focusing on making India a developed nation by 2047.

The Prime Minister, who chairs the NITI Aayog, will be joined by Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, Union Ministers, and Special Invitees. Notably, several non-BJP Chief Ministers are boycotting the event, citing grievances over the Union Budget. Despite oppositional absence, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee surprised many by deciding to attend, stating she will protest against political discrimination towards Bengal.
