West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee exited a NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting she was unjustly interrupted during her speech. Banerjee claimed her microphone was turned off after just five minutes, unlike other chief ministers who spoke longer.
"This is insulting. I will not attend any further meetings," declared Banerjee, as several Trinamool Congress leaders condemned her treatment. Opposition leaders echoed her sentiments, accusing the government of unfair practices.
The BJP dismissed these allegations, noting Banerjee's actions were premeditated to capture media attention. Meanwhile, the Congress and allied parties have raised concerns about bias and discrimination in the allocation of funds by the central government.
