Imran Khan, Pakistan's jailed former prime minister, reiterated his call for a peaceful protest outside the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. During an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan stated that his initial call for protest was misinterpreted as an admission of guilt by his opponents.

The PTI founder maintained that before the violence on May 9, he instructed his party to hold peaceful demonstrations if he was arrested. He accused authorities of planning to kill him and criticized the lack of transparency regarding CCTV footage, promising to take legal action.

Khan also condemned the crackdown on his supporters and defended social media as a democratic voice. He called for all institutions, including the military, to be open to criticism to ensure transparency and democracy.
