Aam Aadmi Party workers staged a protest in Azad Maidan on Tuesday, accusing the Central government of misusing agencies to jail Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

According to Preeti Sharma Menon, Mumbai president of AAP, the BJP views Kejriwal as an existential threat and has declared an undeclared emergency, using draconian laws to mute the voice of a thrice-elected Chief Minister.

Menon further claimed that Kejriwal, who is diabetic, is seeing a dangerous rise in his sugar levels in jail. She alleged that his continued illegal arrest is a direct attempt on his life. Kejriwal, arrested by the ED on March 21, was granted bail by a trial court on June 20, which was later stayed by the high court. He was also arrested by the CBI on June 26 while in judicial custody in the ED case, and was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on July 12.
