Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray over his challenge to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Thackeray had asserted, 'Either you will be there, or I will.'
Thackeray's challenge came on the heels of remarks by Anil Deshmukh, who alleged that Fadnavis planned to imprison both Thackeray and his son Aaditya. Thackeray emphasized that the acrimony between him and Fadnavis was at an all-time high, indicating deteriorating relations.
Shinde responded by cautioning against making reckless statements, suggesting that real political strength is necessary to back up such challenges. He stressed that no one can simply finish another in the political arena with mere rhetoric.
