In a fiery address on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took potshots at the INDIA bloc, predicting a wipeout for the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the 2027 assembly elections.

Adityanath criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'khata khat' refrain linked to the party's 'mahalakshmi' guarantee during the Lok Sabha polls. ''There was Khata khat… where did that promise to give Rs 1 lakh go?'' the CM asked. He warned the SP and Congress against deceiving the public with misleading schemes.

He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ten-year tenure, emphasizing Modi's respect for BR Ambedkar and denying allegations that the Constitution would be undermined. He took a dig at the SP's inadequate reservations for Other Backward Classes during its regime. Adityanath reiterated his commitment to law and order, underlining the state's crackdown on criminals, and stressed the paramount importance of women's safety following a recent incident in Lucknow's Gomti Nagar.
