The Election Commission, under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, will visit Jammu and Kashmir from August 8-10 to assess preparations for the forthcoming assembly elections. Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and SS Sandhu will accompany him.

In Srinagar, the Commission will first meet with political parties and later convene sessions with the CEO, SPNO, and Central Forces coordinator to review ground-level preparations. Additionally, consultations with the Chief Secretary, DGP, District Election Officers, and Superintendents of Police from all districts will be held.

On August 10, the Commission will head to Jammu for a review meeting with enforcement agencies and hold a press conference to brief the media on election readiness.
