Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday called on BJP workers to aim for a clean sweep of all 33 ST-reserved MLA and five Lok Sabha seats in the forthcoming elections.

Addressing a gathering organized by the BJP’s ST Morcha to honor newly elected tribal MLAs and MPs, Majhi emphasized the importance of securing these seats for the party's leadership in Odisha. He also recalled his early years with the BJP and lauded efforts by both state and central governments to enhance tribal welfare.

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram advised senior tribal leaders to adopt constituencies where the BJP faced defeats. He criticized the previous BJD government for its centralized functioning under V K Pandian, urging increased focus on elected representatives.

Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik reiterated his commitment to implementing the PESA Act in Odisha within a year, seeking to improve living conditions for tribal and dalit communities in remote areas.
