The Biden Administration has called for the formation of a democratic interim government in Bangladesh following the sudden resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina amidst violent anti-quota protests.
State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller emphasized the importance of democratic principles, rule of law, and the will of the Bangladeshi people in determining the country's future government.
The US is closely monitoring the situation and urges an end to the violence that has resulted in over 300 deaths, stressing the need for accountability and transparent investigations to ensure justice for the victims.
