BRS working president K T Rama Rao faces allegations of flying a drone without permission during his recent visit to Medigadda barrage in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district. The contentious visit, part of the Kaleshwaram irrigation project review, aimed to highlight perceived shortcomings of the Congress government.

Rama Rao, along with a team of BRS leaders, inspected the River Godavari flood intensity on July 26, subsequently posting drone visuals on social media platform X. Their actions have sparked a renewed war of words between the ruling Congress and BRS, particularly concerning the damage to several piers of the Medigadda barrage, which was previously flagged by the National Dam Safety Authority as compromised.

Following a complaint by Vali Shaik, a case was registered against Rama Rao and two former BRS legislators for disobedience on July 29. BRS sources have alleged that this is a form of harassment by the Congress government, noting that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had earlier dismissed drone flying as a trivial issue.
