Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Friday met Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently incarcerated in connection with the alleged excise policy scam.
Upon his release from Tihar Jail following a Supreme Court order, Sisodia proceeded to the Delhi Chief Minister's residence, where he conferred with Kejriwal's wife and other family members, in the presence of several senior party leaders including Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, and MLAs.
The Supreme Court had granted bail to Sisodia, rebuking lower courts for depriving him of the right to speedy justice after a 17-month incarceration. Sisodia highlighted the power of the Constitution and democracy in securing bail for both himself and Kejriwal, who remains jailed despite interim bail by the Supreme Court due to another arrest by the CBI in a related matter.
