Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday accused the Congress of ignoring attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh while focusing on Gaza. Sarma, who is also BJP's election co-incharge for Jharkhand, attended a party meeting in Ranchi ahead of the Assembly elections.
Addressing the media at Birsa Munda airport, Sarma underscored the severe instability in Bangladesh and voiced confidence in the central government's diplomatic efforts to address the crisis. ''Right now, the situation is very bad there,'' he said.
Sarma criticized Congress for supporting global Muslim issues but neglecting Hindus in Bangladesh. He noted the decline in Hindu populations in regions bordering Bangladesh, emphasizing that border crossings are not a solution and advocating for diplomatic intervention for their security.
