Congress announced on Saturday that the chief minister of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance will be declared post the Maharashtra assembly elections, despite ongoing seat-sharing discussions among the allies.

BJP leaders accused Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray of visiting Delhi to secure his position as MVA’s chief ministerial candidate, underscoring the political tension. The opposition alliance of Congress, Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) faces the ruling `Mahayuti' coalition of BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP.

Congress’s Maharashtra in-charge Ramesh Chennithala confirmed the unified contest in the state elections. Meanwhile, state Congress president Nana Patole emphasized the focus on saving Maharashtra's self-respect and announced the chief minister would be declared after election results. He criticized the Eknath Shinde-led government’s `Laadki Bahin' scheme, suggesting it was purely a vote-gathering tactic.
