Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday criticized those who organize candle marches for ''small'' incidents, pointing out their silence on the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Dhami expressed his dismay over the lack of response to the plight of the Hindu minority in the neighboring country, stating, ''It is extremely 'unfortunate' that no voice is being raised over the atrocities being perpetrated against Hindus in Bangladesh.'' He emphasized that this has been a recurring issue since the events of 1947 and 1971.
He lamented the situation in India where minor incidents prompt protests, yet the severe treatment of Hindus in Bangladesh goes largely unchallenged. Dhami urged that a voice should rise from within the country in solidarity with the Hindu minority in Bangladesh.
