AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, criticizing his Independence Day speech. Owaisi accused the BJP government of Gujarat of approving the release of individuals convicted of raping Bilkis Bano and murdering her family during the 2002 riots.

In a post on 'X', Owaisi pointed out the contradiction between Modi's concern for women's safety expressed in his speech and the actual actions of his government. Owaisi emphasized that Modi, as Gujarat's chief minister, was in power for most of Bano's 15-year struggle for justice.

Owaisi also accused the BJP of knowingly supporting candidates accused of heinous crimes against women. He questioned the sincerity of the Prime Minister's stance on women's safety, arguing that actions speak louder than words.
