Congress MLA from Mumbai, Zeeshan Siddiqui, on Monday joined the NCP's 'Jan Sanman Yatra' led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, criticizing Congress for ignoring him. Siddiqui took a veiled jibe at Rahul Gandhi over his 'Mohabbat is Dukan' remarks.
Siddiqui’s father, former MLA Baba Siddiqui, recently left Congress to join Ajit Pawar's faction. Zeeshan Siddiqui joined the yatra as it reached his Bandra East constituency, praising the Mahayuti government's 'Mazi Ladki Bahin' scheme for women while alleging severe injustice from Congress.
He claimed that Congress excluded him from events and denied him a nomination form for the upcoming assembly elections. Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole suggested appropriate action against Siddiqui, accusing him of prioritizing personal importance over the party.
