Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah received a breather on Monday in an alleged land allotment 'scam,' after the Karnataka High Court instructed a special court to defer proceedings against him until August 29.
The High Court's direction targets the proceedings related to the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment 'scam'. Justice M Nagaprasanna, who reviewed a writ petition filed by Siddaramaiah, emphasized that no injunction was granted, merely a deferment of proceedings.

Siddaramaiah, maintaining his innocence, vowed to fight the matter legally and politically. Congress leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, led protests condemning the Governor's action while BJP leaders staged demonstrations demanding Siddaramaiah's resignation.
