Trump Pledges to Block U.S. Steel Deal and Rescind EPA Pollution Rules
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has pledged to rescind Biden's power plant pollution rule and block Nippon Steel's purchase of U.S. Steel. His economic plan includes imposing tariffs and ensuring a 100% American supply chain. Trump criticized Kamala Harris and promised new nuclear reactors, tax cuts, and reducing the deficit.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump vowed Monday to roll back Biden's rule on power plant pollution and halt Nippon Steel's U.S. Steel acquisition. Speaking in York, Pennsylvania, Trump outlined his economic strategy—tariffs and a fully American supply chain—amidst his most detailed campaign rhetoric so far.
Trump avoided personal attacks on rival Kamala Harris, apart from a single jab at her laugh. He emphasized blocking the Nippon-U.S. Steel merger, branding it detrimental to U.S. interests, despite opposition from U.S. Steel, which welcomed the deal to bolster American industry and jobs.
Trump also pledged to reverse EPA rules aimed at reducing greenhouse gases and to accelerate the deployment of advanced nuclear reactors. He proposed tax cuts, deficit reduction, and even hinted at revoking the EV tax credit while bringing Elon Musk into his administration.
