Union Minister Goyal Condemns Assault, Urges Swift Justice in Badlapur Sexual Assault Case

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday condemned the alleged sexual assault of two girls at a school in Badlapur, emphasizing the need for harsh punishment to deter future crimes. Speaking after visiting Malad Chinchvali Marathi School, Goyal described the incident as 'very unfortunate' and called for the accused to face swift justice in a fast-track court.
'Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar have taken full cognizance of the incident. I have full faith that the culprits will be punished through the fast-track court,' Goyal asserted. Concurrently, ACP Badlapur, Suresh Varade, urged the public to disregard any circulating rumors, affirming that the cyber cell would act against those spreading false information.
In a significant development, the Bombay High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the alleged assault case. The case is being closely monitored by Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice Prithviraj Chavan. Led by SIT Chief Special IG Arti Singh, the investigation has already resulted in the arrest of a school attendant. The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) has proposed the creation of special branches in every police station to expedite such cases, following a delay in crime registration.
