On Friday, the Congress took a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's embrace with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, labeling it as part of his 'huglomacy' strategy. They have urged the Prime Minister to shift his attention to the long-suffering state of Manipur.
In Kyiv, Modi's warm hug with Zelenskyy comes a mere six weeks after he similarly embraced Ukraine's adversary, President Vladimir Putin, adding to the 'huglomacy' narrative.
Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary in charge of communications, remarked, 'Now that the non-biological PM's huglomacy has played itself out, perhaps he can spare a thought for long-suffering Manipur, which has been awaiting his visit for over 15 months now.' The Congress has consistently accused Modi of neglecting Manipur, where ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities has claimed over 200 lives and displaced thousands since May last year.
