In a move to further bolster their strategic partnership, India and the US are set to enhance cooperation on defense and naval technology, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced. During his visit to an American naval surface warfare facility in Maryland, Singh emphasized the mutual benefits of the collaboration.
Singh's four-day official visit underscored the expanded operational ties between the two nations, meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Austin praised the growing momentum of the US-India relationship, noting their increased efforts in strengthening critical supply chains and military interoperability.
Highlighting recent defense agreements, Singh noted an arrangement to mitigate supply chain issues and a potential sale of anti-submarine warfare equipment valued at $52.8 million. The partnership aims to enhance India's defense capabilities and support the strategic objectives of both nations in the Indo-Pacific and South Asia regions.
