Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a scathing attack on his West Bengal counterpart, Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of inciting unrest in the northeastern state. According to Sarma, Banerjee's provocative statements are a tactic to divert attention from her own failures.

In a video shared on social media, Sarma addressed Banerjee saying, “Didi, how dare you threaten Assam? Don't show your anger to us.” The video features the West Bengal CM asserting that while Bangladesh and West Bengal share language and culture, they are distinct entities with West Bengal being an integral part of India.

Banerjee warned that if turmoil erupts in West Bengal, it could have repercussions for Assam and other states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi. Sarma strongly condemned her, urging her not to incite India with divisive politics. The comments were made during an event marking the foundation day of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, the student wing of Banerjee's party.
