An audio recording featuring Santosh Bangar, a Shiv Sena MLA from Maharashtra, allegedly verbally attacking a Regional Transport Office (RTO) official, went viral on Friday. The incident, reportedly, involves Bangar reprimanding the official for halting a farmer's vehicle in Pusad.
Bangar, who serves the Kalamnuri constituency in Hingoli district, is purportedly heard criticizing the RTO official, accusing them of targeting vehicles owned by poor individuals while ignoring more frequent rule violators. "Do not stop vehicles of poor people. You stop poor people's vehicles but not those which run regularly (in violation of rules). I need not be taught the RTO business. The vehicle should be released. It will not take me long to reach Pusad," Bangar allegedly said in the clip.
Efforts to contact Bangar for his comments on the matter were unsuccessful.
