The Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are currently in discussions to form an alliance for the upcoming Haryana Assembly Elections. AAP MP Raghav Chaddha announced on Friday that both parties are making substantial efforts to collaborate for the national interest.
Deepak Babaria, AICC in-charge of Haryana, confirmed the ongoing talks with AAP. Besides AAP, other INDIA bloc partners such as the Communist Party of India (CPIM) and Samajwadi Party are also in negotiations to contest the elections together. Babaria mentioned that these parties are looking for a minimal number of seats to make their presence felt.
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi has consulted Haryana Congress leaders regarding the potential alliance with AAP. Meanwhile, BJP released its first list of 67 candidates for the elections, including notable names like Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and others. The elections are scheduled for October 5, with the counting of votes on October 8.
