The meeting occurred days after President Vladimir Putin acknowledged India's efforts to mediate the ongoing Ukraine conflict during a speech at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

On Thursday, Putin named India among the key countries engaged in dialogue over Ukraine, emphasizing the constructive relations between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russia. The Kremlin highlighted Modi's potential to leverage his communication with global leaders to facilitate conflict resolution.
